According to Mr. Rakesh Verma, Managing Director, MapmyIndia, the tie-up with two-wheeler industry major and the initiative of launching navigation systems for the segment is going to be announced shortly.
He also declared the launch of the MapmyIndia’s Map Engine. A solution designed with its versatile capabilities to geo-enable applications and solutions with a faster turn-around time.
The organization is soon coming out with its consumer maps offer, confident in being able to offer products of superior quality.

TOI displayed the news quite prominently that the technology major MapmyIndia is gearing up to drive into the two-wheeler navigation segment in the consumer market.

It also carried “the launch of the MapmyIndia- Map Engine powering comprehensive map data in the form of tiles and geospatial functions. It uses universal software and ERP systems and platform, making for quicker deployment and faster turn-around time.”
MapmyIndia MD, Mr. Rakesh Verma also shared that he believes that MamyIndia’s maps are comprehensive and accurate. Also, that so far they have been targeting corporate and government clients but this will change with this launch meant for the consumer market.

Smartphone have replaced many devices— including small cameras, notebooks, voice recorders, portable stereo systems and one such is standalone navigation with plethora of smartphone navigation apps. The concept of finding an unknown place has got much easier than before while exploring new places. So is it safe to say smartphones have replaced the standalone navigation device?
“Standalone GPS devices are simply more convenient to use. You can rely on these devices, without the problem of data connectivity”. Shivalik Prasad, Executive Director, MapmyIndia, informs “There are still a lot of customers who want a product that’s fit for one purpose, i.e. showing maps and guiding you to your destination. You can use your phone too for navigation, but a device is more convenient to use. So don’t dismiss car GPS devices yet!
