A personal security device designed to ensure the safety of you and your loved ones at all times. In time of distress, press the SOS button on your device and you will be traceable via GPS and Cell ID technology.
The device has a one year warranty subject to following conditions:
You can know the last location of your SafeMate by using the SafeMate Web application or the SafeMate Mobile application.
The notifications will be received by list of trusted individuals provided by you which can be amended by you at any time. Direct view will require a login and password to access the SafeMate web based service and mobile application. Notifications are sent via sms and/or email which can be amended by you at any point of time.
The device is accurate within 10 meters (in open sky)subject to technological constraints like atmospheric conditions, GPS signals etc.
In case of panic situation please press the SOS button on the SafeMate. The server will send sms and/or email alerts to your loved ones. Kindly note the SOS button has to be pressed for 3-4 seconds, the red LED will start to blink denoting SOS has been registered.
1) Once you receive your SafeMate we recommend you charge it using the wall charger provided inside the box for at least 2 to 3 hours. Then place your device in an area with a clear line of sight to the sky and power up your device by holding down the power button on the side for 3-4 seconds. You will see a red LED flashing indicating the device is powering on
2) Kindly visit the site www.safemate.mapmyindia.com/activation in order to activate the device. Please fill in all the details mentioned in the form and submit signed documents which are to be uploaded and submit the form. You shall shortly receive the login credentials within 2 working days.
After you have fully charged and turned on your device for the first time:
There are two cases in which the Red LED remains continuously ON:
Case1: Device is connected to charger, which implies that the device charging.
Case2: Device is not connected to charger which implies that the GPS is not connected.
This implies that the SafeMate is getting location information successfully and is connected to GSM network
This implies that the battery of your SafeMate device is low. A alert is sent to you via sms/email for the same.
1. To power ON the device
In normal use the battery will last up to 60 hrs, but it can be extended to 70 hrs by maintaining the device in optimal temperature conditions.
Please note that several factors can affect the battery life including temperature, network and signal strength. For example, if the SafeMate is in a very limited cell (GSM) coverage area, this will require it to work harder to obtain a signal resulting in less battery life.
When you get a "Low Battery" email or text message alert, you should immediately charge your device. The alert is designed to let you know that your device is running out of power and needs to be recharged.
Go to SafeMate.mapmyindia.com/login. Enter your username and password details provided to you by our team earlier.
There is a SafeMate mobile app is available for IPhone and Android users. The SafeMate mobile application can be downloaded from their respective stores.
In the upper right section of the header near your username, click settings. Select "Change password" and fill in your new selected password.
The Application doesn’t delete any data from server. This implies that the history will be stored from the time you start using SafeMate.
If you can't get the device to turn on, please make sure that you have charged the device for at least 2 to 3 hours. If the device has been charged, press and hold the Power button until the LED begins to glow. This will take approximately 2 to 3 seconds.
This may be due to two cases:
Case1: The SMS package has exhausted. If so kindly recharge your account.
Case2: There is no network coverage for the device to send data on server.
This may be due to network connection errors. The server immediately sends SOS alerts to the respective mobile numbers/email id’s.
If you are carrying the device on a flight, we request you to kindly switch off the device while taking-off. You may switch on the device once you have landed.
GPS trail doesn’t coincide with roads shown in the maps because of GPS’ limited accuracy. GPS accuracy depends on location (geographic), satellites’ location and weather conditions. In perfect conditions (sunny weather, no clouds, in open area, without skyscrapers, woods) accuracy can be about 10 – 15 meters.
Another possibility is that newly constructed roads don’t exist in the map.
Maps are updated quarterly and changes are installed on server automatically.
Please give your valuable feedback if you find any roads in your vicinity missing in the maps.
