New Delhi (PTI): MapmyIndia has launched an in-car GPS navigation system which provides voice and visual map guidance, covering 55,000 towns and villages across the country and said it was in talks with premium car makers for in-built offerings.

"We are talking to premium care makers for providing the navigator services and some development on that front is expected soon," CE Info Systems Managing Director Rakesh Verma said while launching the product.

He said the company would expand its portfolio by launching new map offerings for mobile phones and internet during this month.

The company is currently importing equipments from China and prices are likely to come down once demand picks up.

Navigator provides maps and directions for 55,000 towns and villages connected by national and state highways and important landmarks within 150 cities.

It also offers complete coverage of streets, localities and points of interest in 18 major cities.

The company also plans to to provide real-time traffic information and services in Hindi and other regional languages, CE Info Systems Director Rohan Verma said.
