MapmyIndia Launches GPS Navigation Device

MapmyIndia Navigator, an in-car GPS navigation device was launched in India.

The new portable GPS gadget is pre-loaded with maps for all India and provides real time voice guided turn by turn navigation. The MapmyIndia Navigator uses satellites to determine user’s current location and lets users search destinations across India, and give turn by turn instructions supported by voice prompts. The Quick search lets users find and navigate to urgent points of interest along the way or near their destination and also gives detours to avoid specific roads.  It can either be mounted on the windshield or dashboard.

The Navigator connects 55,000 towns and villages connected by national and state highways, 150 cities containing important landmarks. It covers 18 major cities containing complete set of streets, localities, sub-localities and landmarks: Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune (including Pimpri Chinchwad), Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Kolkata (including Bidhan Nagar. The MapmyIndia Navigator lets users create and save favorite destinations, and multi-stop trips.

MapmyIndia Navigator is currently available in two hardware models, Delphi NAV 200 and AMAX 06GP5A. Both the personal navigation devices have built-in GPS (SirfStar III), 3.5-inch color touch-screen, Samsung 400 MHz processor. On its 3.5-inch color touch-screen users can watch movies, music, play games and view photos.

The Navigator is currently available in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Chandigarh and can be bought online through MapmyIndia.com. The MapmyIndia Navigator is priced at Rs. 21,000 in Delhi and Rs 22,000 in other states.
