Aeris, an Internet of Things (IoT) service provider formed a partnership with MapmyIndia to offer geo-spatial intelligence based IoT solutions in India by leveraging their respective areas of competence.

It is said that the global IoT market is expected to cross $200 billion by 2020. The IoT market in India stands at $5.6 billion with 200 million connected devices in 2016. This is expected to grow to $15 billion with 2.7 billion devices by 2020 presenting a significant opportunity for technology and service providers.

Managing Director, MapmyIndia, Mr. Rakesh Verma said that the world is moving from automatic to autonomous operations. “The partnership with Aeris, a pioneer in the IoT space, will go a long way in making the Indian businesses globally competitive. MapmyIndia participated at TU-Automotive Japan, held in Tokyo from 18-19 Oct 2016. The conference covered areas like fastest changing and hottest tech areas in the connected vehicle industry. A platform to explore and share knowledge of telematics and smart mobility. Shivalik Prasad, Director, MapmyIndia spoke on business models showing how local players can empower global players with the help of telematics. He spoke about high definition map data base, navi solutions, image processing for autonomous cars, indoor maps, RealView and Lidar data processing, the ingredients for the connected car ecosystem global OEM’s are building.
