The SmartTechie Startup City gives a needed thrust to Startups



Bangalore: More than 4000 techies, 300 CEOs and around 20 VCs thronged the Nimhans conventional center as the SmartTechie Startup City offered them a unique networking platform on May 24 Saturday. Hosted by The SmartTechie, a leading IT magazine, the event gave an opportunity to more than 40 startups not only to showcase their technology but also to meet the industry leaders and venture capitalists.

The keynote speaker Ashish Gupta, MD of Helion Venture Partners, put an emphasis on the need for innovation for a stronger future for the IT ecosystem of India in his speech 'Concept to success: Milestones for startups.' He said Bangalore has a great potential as more and more people are coming down from different part of the country to work in this IT hub. KP Unnikrishnan, Director - Marketting and Alliances, Sun Microsystems; Dr YLR Moorthi, Professor, IIM Bangalore, Paul Murphy, Director of Innovation, Microsoft India; Suresh Vedula, Head - Business Mobility, Nokia India; Bharath Chinamanthur, Director Amazon, IDC; Jinesh Varia, Evangelist Amazon Web Services and Rajendra Mishra of Change India Movement fame enlightened the attendees with their inspiring experiences.
