Doordarshan presented a comprehensive report about the recently launched web portal www.mapmyindia.com
in its morning show 'Subah Savere' telecasted on Thursday, 30th October '04 at 8 a.m. on its DD-1 national channel.
The coverage lasted for 5 minutes and demonstrated what this India-centric site is all about and how a common man,
a tourist or a business user can draw benefits from it.
The location-based website was launched on 10th September'04, almost three
months back by CE Info Systems, an ISO 9001:2000 company and global, end-to-end
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology based solutions & services provider.
The company has taken initiative to serve the Internet fraternity and the
general community especially foreign tourists by bringing 'India' 'at everyone's
fingertips' at no cost through its interactive web portal mapmyindia.com. The
site also focuses on providing location-based services to various industry
verticals.
Doordarshan unveiled facts about the tremendous response that mapmyindia has
received in terms of number of unique visits and hits. The site has been
proficient enough to recieve whopping 2 million plus hits in its initial two
months that demonstrates the reach and appeal of mapmyindia.com.
"Anyone interested in location based information, whether a researcher or is a wanderlust tourist or is into business
can draw immense benefits through the interactive site." said Mr. Verma, MD, CE Info Systems. Further he added
"For all those interested in location based India-centric information, mapmyindia made it convenient to know about
depths and breadths of India by bringing the whole of it on the desktop". He summarized by saying that mapmyindia.com
provides answers to the three most important questions that one is faced with while looking for a location: where is a location?

When questioned about how the site was implemented and promoted, Mrs. Rashmi Verma, Director, CE InfoSystems answered
"Since the company is into GIS mapping since 1994 and is a huge repository of digital location-based data, it did not take us
much time to integrate all the information that the company possesses and develop the website. It was only six months ago that
the company conceptualized the whole idea behind website".
