New Delhi
India, 11 October 2006: Mapmyindia.com, the Internet
portal of interactive maps of Indian cities with
services to general and business travellers, has come up
with what is described as a new beta version (v-2007) of
digitised maps of Indian cities and villages. Developed
by New Delhi based CE Info Systems, the new version will
have the maps of bigger towns and cities in greater
details.
Some of the important features of the
new version include location of any specific place --
along with the nearest landmarks -- in a city, easy
access to driving directions from one location to
another within the country as well as during intra-city
travel between two points in a metropolitan city and
last-mile directions to any place in a city. Also,
anyone may record his unique e-location that will enable
others to spot the person's exact location on the map.
The product has been developed on the basis of
mapping data gathered by an in-house team of surveyors.
The services of the portal will also be available on
GPRS-enabled mobile phones.
